Bloor Viaduct Safety Report
In late 2008, Ward 29 Bikes member Luke Siragusa presented the Bloor Viaduct Safety Report (PDF) to City of Toronto staff and the Toronto Cycling Advisory Committee. A year of consideration and design followed and resulted in staff accepting most of the suggestions in the report for improving cyclists’ safety on the Bloor Viaduct. They also added an extra margin of safety to the lanes by making them even wider and painting an additional buffer zone to increase space between cars and bikes. The new and improved design was painted across the bridge in the summer of 2010.
